396 G. MSP ®ffice Building, 260 Snelling Service Drive
397 This new commercial property was constructed on a vacant lot. The developer paid for a
398 proportionate share of the cast to for the reconstruction of the Arena Regional Pond,
399 $20,536. They also constructed an infiltration basin along County Road C to meet the
400 volume reduction standards of RCWD.
401
402 H, Caribou Coffee, 2216 County Road D
403 The developer has installed an infiltration/ retention area to meet the City's storm water
404 requirements.
40S
406 VI, Other Drainage Items
407 A. Rain Garden Workshop
408 On Wednesday, June 27th, City Staff along with Ramsey Conservation District (RCD)
409 sponsored a free Rain Garden Workshop. Information was provided to residents on the
410 following:
411
412 1. How and why rainwater gardens can improve and protect the quality of our Iakes,
413 streams, wetlands.
414 2. How to assess your yard for locating a rainwater garden
415 ~. How to properly design a rainwater garden
416 4. How to install a rainwater garden
417 5. Available financial assistance from different government agencies
418
419 Staff was very pleased with the turnout at this workshop, 41 participants representing 37
420 properties attended this workshop.
421
422 Recommended 2005 action:
423 We have scheduled another workshop for April 17, 2008.
424 B. Bennett Lake Shoreline Improvement Project
425 We are very excited about the partnership opportunity presented by the Bennett Lake
426 Shoreline Improvement Project. This improvement will address a shoreline issue that has
427 developed in the northeast corner of Bennett Lake. The parking lot runoff from the
428 Prince of Peace Church discharges into Central Park via a pipe that discharges near the
429 upper pathway. The parking lot runoff washes sediment into a small depression that fills
430 up and washes over the pathway and down the hill. The runoff can be quite substantial
431 and has created a gully that in turn washes sediment over the lower pathway and into
432 Bennett Lake. The shoreline of Bennett Lake in this area is also experiencing significant
433 sloughing, causing the damage to the lower path.
434
435 Central Park and Bemiett Lake are significant environmental resources. We see this
436 improvement as being in keeping with the City of Roseville's commitment to help the
437 envirorument. As a result, we have been working with RCD and Prince of Peace to
438 identify and implement an aesthetically and environmentally appropriate solution.
439
City of Roseville
2007 Storm Water Annual Report Page 11 of 15
