We need to understand the unique <br />needs of the customer. Demand on staff has been increasing steadily through <br />customer expectation and regulatory requirements from other agencies. <br />Invest in People to Promote Employee Excellence <br />Show our care and appreciation by recruiting, developing and retaining the best <br />possible team members for the Public Works Department. We are committed to <br />training and retaining a superior workforce motivated by challenging assignments, <br />responsibility, accountability and advancement opportunities in a work atmosphere <br />of reasonable expectation; support and appreciation. Currently we are stretched <br />beyond reasonable- expectations in some areas and have- a. need to add staff as a <br />corrective measure to prevent employee burnout and possible exodus. <br />Increase Effectiveness and Efficiency <br />• The Public Works Department is committed to establishing performance measures <br />that show we deliver services efficiently and effectively. We do the right things <br />utilizing the latest technology and quality equipment. We tend to be innovative and <br />provide leadership in our field. <br />Enhance Partnerships <br />Foster and strengthen current and future partnerships to reduce cost burden on tax <br />and rate payers as supported in Imagine Roseville 2025 <br />Our Public Works Department has taken a leadership role in partnering with other <br />communities and jurisdictions. Many opportunities still exist in operations areas <br />and equipment sharing. <br />Maintain and Rehabilitate Infrastructure and Capital Investments <br />• Understand long-term infrastructure needs to ensure the safety of the public and <br />uninterrupted services due to failure.
