Hoisington Koegler Group Inc. ©©
©®
Roe suggested that more environmental goals and policies should be added to incorporate the
IR2025 goals.
Doherty asked about rain gardens and the City's policy for educating and making citizens aware
of their benefits and existing examples within the community.
Wakeman suggested that language and/or a policy be added regarding the need for maintaining
drainage ponds and rain gardens because she has noticed existing ponds that collect litter and
need to be cleaned up, such as the pond near the Ramsey County Library.
Bloom responded that this issue could probably be addressed under Goal #1.
Roe suggested that the Environmental Protection Chapter could have references to other
chapters within the Comp Plan added to indicate related goals/policies in other chapters.
Grefenberg suggested that the Environmental Protection Chapter is still not quite capturing the
sustainability goals that have been discussed by the SC. He suggested that language be added
that picks up on DeBenedet's memo, dated July 1, and the Land Use Chapter's sustainability
goals and policies. This memo is attached to the SC meeting Hates as Attachment D.
VII. Meeting Recap
Reminder that the next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Jufy 24t~', from 6:OOpm to 8:30pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:29 pm
