Housing development <br />Goal: Create quality affordable hous ing in communities throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan <br />area. <br />Strategies: <br />• Strengthen partnerships and build new collaborati ve relationships with neighborhoods, public <br />and non-profit agencies, and for-prof it corporations and organizations. <br />• Expand CCHT’s development activities into additional neighborhoods of Minneapolis, the City <br />of St. Paul, and to the greater metropolitan area. Achieve a five-year production goal of at least <br />750 units. <br />• Develop an acquisition and preservation strategy to purchase, finance, and manage existing <br />affordable rental housing, with a five-year goal of at least 500 units. <br />• Ensure a significant part of CCHT’s production co ntinues to serve individuals and families with <br />the greatest need. <br />• Apply CCHT’s behavioral design expertise to the development of a wide variety of community <br />affordable housing needs includin g affordable rental, affordable homeownership, senior, mixed- <br />income/mixed-use, and supportive housing. <br />Asset management and resident services <br />Goal: Ensure the long-term success of all properties as affordable community assets that provide <br />improved quality of life for residents. <br />Asset Management Strategies: <br />• Maximize affordability and ensure the financial stability and excellent physical condition of all <br />properties. <br />• Re-design property management ov ersight to focus on the most im portant stewardship principles <br />for greater efficiency and effectiveness. <br />• Strengthen partnerships and relationships with ne ighborhoods, funders, so cial service providers, <br />property management agents an d other related organizations. <br />• Preserve the long-term viability and affordability of low-income tax credit properties approaching <br />the end of their initial compliance period. <br />Resident Services Strategies: <br />• Effectively use community resources to enhanc e resident stability and successful tenancy. <br />• Collaborate and partner with existing social service providers for supportive housing.
