Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />Program Planners Committee <br />RECOMMENDATION ON VOLUNTEERS <br />for Commission Consideration at its April 13, 2010, meeting <br />Background: Our December 4,' 2009, meeting minutes indicate, <br />under the agenda item "Accept Forum Debriefing Report and Establish <br />2010 Forum Committee", <br />Commissioners discussed the success of the October forum and the possibility of <br />hosting another forum. Commissioners discussed possible changes to the format <br />and location. They discussed involving more members of the community. <br />Commissioners asked that staff put on the website that anyone interested in <br />planning the Dialogue 3 contact the City.... <br />At the last Commission meeting on March 9th, Chair Singleton directed <br />the Program Planners Committee to come back with a <br />recommendation on encouraging volunteers for Commission projects. <br />• <br />Committee Discussion: The Committee discussed the importance of <br />welcoming the public in its work and in its committees. The • <br />Committee discussed how other Roseville commissions involve the <br />public. The Committee especially wants to involve the public in its <br />civic engagement project which by its very nature should be inclusive, <br />open, and welcoming. <br />Committee Recommendation: Therefore, having met, the <br />Committee recommends to the Commission the following: <br />The Commission continue to make public its desire to invite <br />volunteers to work with it in its mission of furthering the cause of <br />human rights in Roseville. <br />The committee thus recommends its page on the City's web site <br />include the following information: <br />The Commission welcomes visitors to its monthly meetings. <br />There is always an opportunity for public comment on the agenda. <br />The Commission also welcomes ideas and volunteers to work <br />with it in furthering the cause of Human Rights in Roseville.
