Working with a facilitator, we identified needs in the community and set goals to address them. Roseville is changing; we
see this in our schools and in our neighborhoods. Although Roseville is a welcoming community, we hear of incidents that make the
community less welcoming than we should be, and some people may not know how to become civically engaged in our
community.
a. Goal
The Commission set a goal to improve civic engagement at the
neighborhood level and with underrepresented groups. We
want to establish a project that brings diverse group of people
together in anon-threatening environment and develop a
framework for future civic engagement efforts and thoughtful
discussions about our community.
•
b. Expected Outcomes
',We plan to hold one or more events targeting neighborhoods
and/or interest groups. Through our efforts participants will
gain a better understanding and acceptance of others who may
have differing life experiences. We will also help them to learn
how to effectively involve themselves in civic governance.
P~tJe i continue io next page
