July 13, 1995 <br />To: Grass Lake Water Management Organization <br />From: David Ahrens, Assistant City Engineer <br />RE: UPDATE ON PROJECTS WITHIN GLWMO <br />Listed below are both private and public projects that are within GLWMO: <br />Reiland Lane reconstruction <br />The Shoreview City Council awarded a construction contract to C. W. Houle, Inc.. for the <br />reconstruction of Reiland L' ane from Snail Lake Boulevard to its north terminus at the <br />May 1, 1995, Council meeting. Construction began the first part of June with installation <br />of watermain and storm sewer, sanitary sewer repairs, and reconstruction of the roadway. <br />Improvements to the storm sewer system includes pre-treatment of storm water runoff <br />prior to discharge into Snail Lake. To date, the watermain and storm sewer work is 50% <br />complete and road work is about 25% complete. <br />2. Street renewal project <br />The Shoreview City Council awarded a contract to reconstruct Churchill Street, Amble <br />Drive, and Churchill Place to Central Landscaping, Inc. at the April 17, 1995, Council <br />meeting. This project was completed the week of July 3. The project included the <br />reconstruction of the roadways with no utility work. <br />3. Gramsie Road reconstruction <br />The Shoreview City Council awarded a construction contract for the reconstruction of <br />Gramsie Road, Mackubin Street, and Suzanne Avenue in June, 1994. The majority of the <br />work was completed last fall with a few items left for this year. Landscape work was <br />completed this past week and the final lift of bituminous asphalt should be done by July <br />21. <br />4. Snail Lake Open Space Trail and I-694 pedestrian bride <br />The City has been notified that the USDOT has approved the use of federal funds for the <br />Snail Lake Open Space Trail and the I-694 pedestrian bridge. The Snail Lake Open <br />Space Trail includes the construction of a trail between the Shoreview Community <br />
