The store is scheduled to open during the f rst week of November. The storm
drainagelwater quality system is in place and functional; City staff will monitor the effectiveness of
the sedimentation ponds over the next year.
The planning process continues with. the development of a Design Concept Report, scheduled for
review and approval by the City sometime in the next 2 months. The report itself won't address
specific storm drainage designs or potential water quality pond locations, however, it is Ramsey
Cotmty's intent that all CLWMO requirements wi11 apply to the f1na1 design of the project. The
project will enter a final, detailed design phase in the spring of 1996.
This project, which included the installation of water mains, curb and gutter, new asphalt pavement,
retaining wal1S and storm draityage improvements in a neighborhood along the west side of 5nai1
Lake, is essentially complete with. minor punchlist items, landscaping and clean up reen~,aining. This
residential street renewal project also included. the construction of a water quality pond on an adjacent
City-owned property, so that the majority of the runoff in the area will receive same fotYn of
treatment (settlement, filtration, etc.) prior to its discharge into Snail Lake. Minor changes tv the
pond design were made during the project 'which should result in higher effectiveness as we11 as easier
maintenance.
