Dave Zappetillo DNR Metro Fishery The Task Force, on January 29, held a meeting to provide an update of their work and accept comments from Roseville residents. The meeting was announced through the newspapers, City Newsletter, and by individual mailed notices to Roseville residents around the lake. TASK FORCE RECOMMENDATION The Task Force recommendation to the City Council is as follows: Part 1 Adopt an ordinance similar to the City of Shoreview ordinance with the following provisions: • Within 150 feet of the shore of Lake Owasso, motorized watercraft shall not exceed a "slow, no wake" rate of speed as defined by the State of Minnesota's Boating Rule with the following exceptions: - Straight out departure and straight. in return from and to the shore - Motorized watercraft activity associated with a special event approved by the City Council and permit obtained from Ramsey County Sheriff • Motorized watercraft shall at all times maintain a separation that for the conditions is adequate to avoid an accident with swimmers, rafts, docks, and other watercraft, and that does not diminish the safety of other lake users or use of their property. When a swimmer is present, motorized watercraft shall not pass between a dock and a raft located within 150 feet of the shore. • Water skiers, tubers, surfboarders, etc. shall not come closer than 150 feet of the shore except for straight out departure and straight in return from and to the shore.
