The meeting was announced through the <br />newspapers, City Newsletter, and by individual mailed notices to Roseville residents <br />around the lake. <br />TASK FORCE RECOMMENDATION <br />The Task Force recommendation to the City Council is as follows: <br />Part 1 <br />Adopt an ordinance similar to the City of Shoreview ordinance with the following provisions: <br />• Within 150 feet of the shore of Lake Owasso, motorized watercraft shall not <br />exceed a "slow, no wake" rate of speed as defined by the State of Minnesota's <br />Boating Rule with the following exceptions: <br />- Straight out departure and straight. in return from and to the shore <br />- Motorized watercraft activity associated with a special event approved by <br />the City Council and permit obtained from Ramsey County Sheriff <br />• Motorized watercraft shall at all times maintain a separation that for the <br />conditions is adequate to avoid an accident with swimmers, rafts, docks, and <br />other watercraft, and that does not diminish the safety of other lake users or use <br />of their property. When a swimmer is present, motorized watercraft shall not <br />pass between a dock and a raft located within 150 feet of the shore. <br />• Water skiers, tubers, surfboarders, etc. shall not come closer than 150 feet of <br />the shore except for straight out departure and straight in return from and to the <br />shore. <br />
