BWSR Meeting Minutes <br />January 27, 1999 <br />Page Three <br />stated that the drainage forum proceedings are at the printer and will be sent out in the <br />next few weeks. <br />Ron reported that a cooperative initiative between USDA/NRCS/BWSR/SWCDs to <br />possibly fund SWCDs. Greg Larson has been assigned to work with the BWSR Cost- <br />Share Committee to review the grant process. The funds for the initiative are for one <br />year with two years of effort; the allocation is based on workload analysis. Ohio is the <br />first to have this done. <br />Ron reported that we received an appeal from Murray County. The DRC will be <br />reviewing the appeal. <br />Ron reported that Linda Prail has been hired as the BWSR Administrative Services <br />Director, she will work closely with Ron on legislative issues as well as administrative <br />issues. <br />Dispute Resolution Committee -Glenn Annexstad reported that the DRC has two <br />appeals pending, one in Murray County regarding a wetland replacement plan and the <br />Rice Creek appeal is pending; two other appeals are in court of appeals at this time. <br />Education and Public Relations Committee -Paul Krabbenhoft reported that the <br />committee will meet today. <br />Cost-Share/Soil Conservation Committee -Glenn Annexstad reported that the <br />committee met to discuss relocation out of a wetland floodplain into a high area, dollars <br />can be saved by doing this. The cost-share policy changed from 80% to 90% -those <br />items will be brought up for action at the February meeting. Paul Krabbenhoft has been <br />asked to be on MAS~JUCD's Ways and Means Committee wh ich deals with genera! <br />services grants and distribution. <br />Wetlands Committee -Barb Cobb reported that the committee will meet on February 22 <br />in St. Cloud. Ron stated that the draft wetlands report will be discussed at that time. <br />Agency Reports <br />Jim Anderson, Minnesota Extension Ser/ice (MES) reported that he attended a <br />meeting in Delaware regarding nutrient management issues. He attended a meeting in <br />Edmonton, Alberta Canada and met with the provincial government and contractors to <br />work with MES on individual sewage treatment, using Minnesota as a model.
