~~~ ~ <br />JOINT ~'F.RS AGREEMF.., <br />CITY OF SHOKEVIE;'W, MINN)::SO'I'A <br />CITY OL' ROSEVILLI;, MINPJESO`rA <br />ESTABLISEiIie'G AND ]3~IPOWERING 'PIiE <br />GRASS LAKE WATER MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION <br />THIS AGREEMI=:NT is made and entered into this oZ~:.,day of <br />1983 by and between the CITY OF ROSEVILLE, a municipal corpora- <br />tion and political subdivision of the State of Minnesota, and the CITY OF <br />SHOREVIEW, a municipal corporation and political sulxiivision of the State of <br />Minnesota. <br />WHEREAS, each City has the authority to manage surface waters within its <br />boundaries pursuant to M.S.A. 412.221, Subd. 6; 444.075, and 462.357, Subd< 1; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, each City may jointly exercise comnon authority by adopting a <br />joii~l• power3 ayr~~nucit pursuant to M.S.A. 471.59; arx.l <br />WHEREAS, by means of a joint powers agr~nent, the Cities may establish a <br />water management organization pursuant to M.S.A. 473.875 to 473.883, inclu- <br />sive; and <br />WHEREAS, a portion of each City lies within the geographical area <br />hereinafter r~~ferrc~d to as the "Grass Lake WatershE~", which watershed is <br />illustrated ~,n1 described on "Exhibit A" attac:~ed hEareto; and <br />-I- <br />
