~~
Dale Street Reconstruction Project
_,
~_ ~ ~_ '~
In August 2009, the City Council received a petition
to construct a pathway along Dale Street between
County Road C and S. Owasso Boulevard. This
segment of road has also been identified for
reconstruction, due to the poor condition of the
pavement. To address these needs, the City is
working on developing a 2011 reconstruction
project. You are invited to a kick-off meeting on:
Wednesday, June 30, 2010
6:00 p.m.
Roseville City Hall
2660 Civic Center Drive
We hope you will be able to attend. If you are not,
please consider sending an a-mail or calling to
discuss your thoughts. We will be posting the
presentation on the project website the day after
the meeting.
Public Input Process
Over the next 6 months, city staff will hold four
information meetings to discuss the proposed
project with affected neighbors. Using input from
these meetings, we will develop a design for the
new street, including items such as pathway,
sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer. With
the exception of the October meeting, these are
held at City Hall. Tentative dates and topics:
June 30, 6:00 pm- Staff will present general
information about street reconstruction projects and
a chance for staff to listen to the property owners
questions and concerns that they would like
addressed as a part of the project. These usually
include; street width, parking, pathway, utilities, and
rain gardens.
September 9, 6:00 pm- This is an open house
format where we will have a preliminary design for
the project. Property owners will be able discuss
the project with city staff.
October 9, 10:00 am -Neighborhood "walk thru"
meeting held on site. City staff uses spray paint to
mark out the edges of the new road along with
pathway so that people can understand where the
improvements will be located within the right of
way. It is a moving meeting; staff walks down the
street and property owners come out to discuss the
project as we pass by their property.
November 18, 6:00 pm - We will have completed
the final design along with an engineer's estimate
for the project and be able to share with property
owners what the cost and proposed assessments
are for the project.
How does a road project get approved?
Staff will use the information gathered from the
public input meetings and later investigations to
design the project and prepare a feasibility study
that will be presented to the City Council in
December 2010, which will be followed by a public
hearing in January 2011. All owners of property
affected by the construction will receive a formal
notice of the public hearing.
At the hearing, the findings of the feasibility study
will be presented and residents will have an
opportunity to speak to the City Council about the
proposed project. Following the public hearing, the
City Council will vote on whether to move forward
with the project. If approved, staff will prepare
construction documents for the 2011 summer
construction season.
Project Contacts:
Darren Lindsey, Project Coordinator
(651) 792-7045
Darren.lindsey(a~ci.roseville.mn.us
Deb Bloom, City Engineer
(651) 792-7042
deb.bloom(a~ci.roseville.mn.us
Project Website: http://www.cityofroseville.com/DaleStreet
