Parking
Please comply with the No Parking signs as they
are placed. No Parking signs will be enforced on
weekdays. Parking on weekends is allowed.
Access
Contractors are required to keep the roads
passable and provide driveway access whenever
possible. The construction project will be staged so
that residents and emergency vehicles will be able
to drive on the streets at all times. If you have
special access needs, please let us know.
To complete milling and paving work on County
Road C2 {Lincoln Drive to Snelling), we will need to
close it. The closures will be as needed, one day at
a time.
Mail Delivery & Garbage Pick up
The construction work should not impact your mail
delivery or garbage pick up. Schedules and times
should remain unchanged. Please contact us if you
have problems as a result of this construction.
Survey Markers
In order to perform the project construction,
Engineers place a series of survey markers for the
Contractor to measure from. Typically these
markers are offset several feet from the object or
point they refer to so that they are not disturbed
during the construction process. As a result, these
offset markers are often placed well into resident's
yard. Please notify Darren Lindsey, Project
Coordinator, of any stakes that have been moved
inadvertently.
Utility Flags
To protect against underground utility damage, the
Contractor will be calling in utility locates. This is
required by anyone digging a hole whether it is for
planting a tree or removing curb. Xcel Energy,
Comcast and Qwest will locate their underground
utilities by spray painting and placing flags in the
boulevard.
Erosion Control
Storm water runoff is precipitation from rain or
snowmelt that flows over the ground. As it flows, it
can pick up debris, chemicals, and dirt and other
pollutants and deposit them into the storm sewer
system. Any storm water runoff that enters the
storm sewer system is untreated and discharged
into the waterbodies we use for swimming, fishing,
and providing drinking water. To prevent this from
happening on our construction projects, we put inlet
protection on all of the catch basins. When it rains,
this can cause temporary street flooding. When
your street is under construction, please do not
move the inlet protection. We do not want the
sediment and muddy water to get into the storm
sewer. Please contact us if you have questions.
Safety
Residents should use caution at all times while
driving through the construction zone and be alert
for moving equipment, holes, trenches and other
hazards in the work zone.
Your assistance in maintaining a safe work area is
important. The noise and dust created by
construction traffic make it difficult for workers to
watch onlookers. Heavy equipment operators must
concentrate on the job at hand and may not notice
children playing near or behind equipment.
Please remind children to stay clear of the
construction area and equipment both during
working and non-working hours.
Questions?
As this project progresses, we will keep you
informed through direct mailing and by updating
information on the project webpage.
