Article III -Section 1. Regular Meetings. Add "Unless a majority of members vote otherwise," to the <br />front of the first sentence in the section. Section would read "Unless a majority of the members vote <br />otherwise, the Commission..." Riach second -unanimously approved <br />Article II -Section 2. Special Meetings. Add "The chair, or" to the front of the first sentence in the <br />section. Section would read "The chair, or a majority of... ". Bell second. <br />Discussion -Johnson -change to Chair or Vice Chair. Riach -language would allow someone to <br />call a meeting and control the agenda. Lorenz -Should be a majority <br />Sands changed motion to read "Any three members of the Commission...". Motion approved 7 to 2 <br />(Crump/Lorenz) <br />VII. Annual Report to the District Court. Prepared by Bell. <br />Motion by Johnson -switch the numbering of items 2 and 3. Bell second -unanimously approved. <br />Motion by Sobola -Add the names of the new officers to item 3. Bell second -unanimously <br />approved. <br />Motion by Johnson -Delete item 4 and replace with approx "Meeting scheduled for the third <br />Wednesday of April 2002 at which time and invitation will be issued for the City Council to meet with <br />the Charter Commission". Bell second -unanimously approved. <br />Motion by Bell -Bell to amend the report as indicated and submit to District Court Judge Cohen. <br />Brewer Second -unanimously approved <br />VIII. Public Comment <br />1. Sharon Gerber -resident -Encouraged Commission to understand that the reason the Charter <br />did not pass was because it did not have enough content <br />2. Tom Kough -resident -Complemented Commission and stated that a Charter was used in <br />Austin and that it was good <br />3. Polly Franke- resident -Questioned what would the group be doing if the Charter had passed, <br />would it have continued on. Spoke in favor of a representative government and against the <br />Charter. <br />4. Marilyn Rose-Sanft -resident -People voted the Charter down because they are happy with <br />their government. <br />IX. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 7:59 p.m. <br />Phillip J.
