garage, screened from view with opaque fencing or screening or stored in the residence.
<br />No permit is required for a sale which meets the criteria of this Section. A property owner
<br />may apply for a garage sale promotion permit in which the applicant requests the City
<br />Council to vary or approve additional conditions beyond those stated in this Code. (Ord.

<br />GROUND FLOOR AREA: The lot area covered by an occupied portion of a building
<br />measured from she exterior faces of exterior walls, but excluding open terraces and

<br />HOME OCCUPATION: Any occupation or profession engaged in by the occupant of a
<br />residential dwelling unit, which is clearly incidental and secondary to the residential use
<br />of the premises and does not change the character of said premises. (Ord. 1286, 08-04-

<br />HOTEL: Any building or portion thereof occupied as the temporary abiding place of
<br />individuals and containing three or more guest rooms, used, designated, or intended to be
<br />used, let or hired out to be occupied, or which are occupied by three or more individuals
<br />for compensation, whether the compensation be paid directly or indirectly. (Ord'. 1286,

<br />JUNK YARD: An area where waste, discarded or salvaged materials are bought, sold,
<br />exchanged, stored, boiled, cleaned, packed, disassembled or handled including, but not
<br />limited to, scrap iron and other metals, paper, rags, rubber products, bottles and lumber.
<br />Storage of such material in conjunction with a manufacturing process or recycling
<br />collection and distribution center when within an enclosed area or building shall not be

<br />LAWN AND GARDEN CENTER: A retail establishment where the primary sales are
<br />limited to lawn, garden and indoor horticultural products and garden tools, equipment and
<br />supplies reasonably related to the care, construction and maintenance of lawns and
<br />gardens. (Ord. 1286, 08-04-2003)
<br />LOADING SPACE: A space accessible from a street, alley or way in a building or on a
<br />lot for the use of trucks while loading and unloading merchandise or materials.
<br />LODGING ROOM: A commercial residence or hotel room rented. as sleeping and living
<br />quarters. In a suite of rooms each room which provides sleeping accommodations shall
<br />be counted as one lodging room.
<br />LOT: A parcel of land, abutting on a public or private street, being a lot designated in a
<br />recorded plat or a parcel occupied by a principal building on or before May 21, 1959, or
<br />being a parcel of record of sufficient size to meet minimum zoning requirements for use,
<br />coverage and area,. and to provide the yards required by this Code. (Ord. 1286, 08-04-

<br />LOT AREA: The area of a horizontal plane within the lot lines.
<br />LOT CORNER: A lot situated at the junction of and abutting on two or more intersecting
<br />streets; or a lot at the point of deflection in alignment of a single street, the interior angle
<br />of which does not exceed 135°.
<br />LOT DEPTH: The mean horizontal distance between the front lot line and the rear lot
<br />line of a lot.
<br />LOT, INTERIOR: A lot other than a corner lot.
<br />LOT LINE: A property boundary line of any lot held in single ownership, except that
<br />where any portion of a lot extends into the abutting public street or alley, the lot line shall
<br />be deemed to be the street or alley right of way line adjacent to the lot. (Ord. 1286, 08-
