The City of <br />� � <br />. � <br />Proclamation <br />Toastmasters Month <br />Whereas: Toastmasters International> the world's leading organization devoted to <br />communications> public speaking and leadership skills> provides a mutually- <br />supportive and positive learning environment in which members have the <br />opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills; and <br />Whereas: Toastmasters> founded in October 1924, has over 175>000 members in 63 <br />countries and more than 230 clubs in District 6(Minnesota and Ontario> <br />Canada); and <br />Whereas: Toastmasters Clubs of 20-30 people who gather weekly to follow an agenda <br />of prepared speeches> impromptu speeches and evaluations as members <br />learn through practice> by listening to one another and by studying <br />educational manuals from Toastmasters International; and <br />Whereas: There are eight Toastmasters clubs that meet in the City of Roseville: Capitol <br />Square> First Energizers> Four Seasons> King of Clubs> King Webster> Midland> <br />MNRPCV and Rat Pack; <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council and the City of Roseville does <br />hereby declare October 2001 to be Toastmasters Month in the City of Roseville. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of <br />Roseville to be affixed this 8th day of October 2001. <br />John Kysylyczyn> Mayor <br />
