NIr. Thomas Paschke
February 6, 2002
Page 2
Most of the traffic accessing Lengton Avenue to the south will use the direct driveway while
sma11 amounts may use Roselawn Avenue. However, traffic to the north may be more inclined to
use the Roselawn Avenue access. Thus, the traffic load from the development will be primarily
through the driveway to Lengton Avenue with some traffic using Roselawn Avenue. The
Roselawn Avenue traffic to the east or to the west will be primarily oriented to the Roselawn
Avenue driveway.
To place the traffic volumes in perspective, the additional traffic on Roselawn Avenue east of the
development in the P.M Peak Hour is 8 which calculates to appromately one vehicle every 71h
minutes. Over a 16 hour travel day (6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), the additional traffic would average
one car every 12 minutes. Roselawn Avenue to the west, using the same method of calculations,
would hae appromately one additional vehicle every 9 minutes over the 16 hour heavy period
with much less traffic during the nighttime hours and heaier volumes in the P.M Peak period.
We have not reviewed the site plan layout for geometric design, accessibility by delivery vehicles
and transit vehicles or general operations.
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please feel free to call me.
Sincerely,
SHORT ELLIOTT HENDRICKSON 1NC.
—Lx UG/I ll/blnw
Glen Van Wormer, P.E.
Senior Transportation Engineer
sah
\spfiles2cotpdoc\wp\projectsksrosev9801 kpasclilce. f06.doc
