Chief Gasaway followed-up: he showed a survey of retiree access policies from other metro communities and commented on access to secured facilities. Maschka asked about the City's liability for personal injuries to visiting retirees, and worker's compensation liability. Kysylyczyn spoke about the differences between the fire department and other city departments, and the history of this issue. Kough commented that he disagreed; he was comfortable with the current motion to adopt a Resolution. Schroeder asked that we give the parties a chance to resolve this matter. � Terry Moses spoke about the special nature of the Fire Department and how it was not a moneymaking business. Retiree Joe Rosene spoke about the absence of a genuine security issue, and the presence of a personality issue. Klausing asked for a sequence of background events, and indicated willingness to compromise. Kough spoke in favor of the curr�n�;r�ation. Kysylyczyn withdrew his motion. Maschka moved, Kysylyczyn seconded, to refer the matter to the City Manager with a report back to the Council within 30 days. Kysylyczyn explained why he was going to support this motion.
