� V. WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS <br />l. Definitions <br />d) Water Source and Treatment Facilities <br />The City of Arden Hills purchases water from the City of Roseville <br />n <br />to supply the water distribution system. Water enters the system <br />at three separate meter stations located near the southern <br />corporate limit of Arden Hills. Two of these meter stations are <br />located on County Road D and the third is located near Old <br />�: <br />'� . Snel l ing Avenue and Lake Josephine. <br />The water purchased from Roseville is treated and Arden Hills <br />�. does not add any water treatment to the distribution system. <br />b) Water Stora�e Facilities <br />� The City of Arden Hills has a total water storage capacity of 1.5 <br />� <br />million gallons comprised by two elevated storage tanks. One tank <br />has a capacity of 1.0 million gallons and is located south of <br />Interstate 694 along Red Fox Road. The other storage ta n k has a <br />capacity of 0. 5 mi 11 ion gal lons and is located north of Interstate <br />694 along Fernwood Avenue. <br />�) Water Trunk and Subtrunk Distribution Mains <br />A network of pipes and related appurtenances usually in the size <br />range of 10 to 16 inch. These pipes are designed to carry large <br />volumes of water and interconnect various point sources of water <br />supply and storage reservoirs. Appurtenances to these facilities <br />would include valves and fittings but not fire hydrants. <br />20 <br />
