Regular City Council Minutes — 09/30/02 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 12 <br />capacity as the City's Board of Appeals, as the final <br />arbiter. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn recognized those members of the <br />audience wishing to speak to this issue. <br />Mary Meyer, 2 138 Fairways Lane, requested that the park <br />dedication monies received in lieu of land be used to clean <br />up the pond area, and update the trail in that area. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn asked Parks and Recreation Director <br />Lonnie Brokke to address Ms. Meyer's request. <br />Mr. Brokke estimated that the park dedication monies <br />were estimated at $8,800.00 and are designated for use in <br />park expenses. Mr. Brokke stated that staff and Parks and <br />Recreation Commission members concurred with the need <br />for future improvements to both the pond and trail, <br />constituting their decision to accept money rather than <br />land in this situation. <br />Councilmember Klausing stated that he had received <br />written requests regarding these concerns as well. <br />Councilmember Kough asked if this money could be <br />earmarked for the pond clean up trail improvements. <br />Mr. Brokke stated that no final decision had been made at <br />this time concerning improvements in this wildlife area, <br />but that it was listed as a proposed improvement. <br />Nancy Amos, resident, asked for verification regarding <br />footings of the development and the rear setbacks; and <br />thanked the developer for his receptiveness to the <br />neighborhood concerns and comments. <br />Developer Gordy Howe, Masterpiece Homes, stated that <br />after receiving the Council packet materials, he had made <br />the final revisions provided this evening, not allowing staff <br />to provide the information earlier.
