Regular City Council Minutes —10/14/02
DRAFT Minutes - Page 2
Mayor Kysylyczyn introduced Dick Kehr, his Excellency
the Prime Minister of Boreas Rex LXVI; Tim Madden,
Roseville resident, who is this year's Boreas Rex LXVI;
and the Queen of Snows, the former Miss Roseville
Jennifer Heying.
King Boreas then knighted Councilmembers Maschka,
Klausing, and Schroeder; Councilmember Kough in
abstentia; and Mayor Kysylyczyn.
King Boreas was rudely interrupted by Volcanus Rex
LXV, Roseville resident Larry Mahoney, and his band of
merry men. King Boreas and Volcanus Rex then
proceeded to argue over many things such as the coming
of winter and spring.
B. Automatic External Defibrillator Presentation
Fire Chief Gasaway explained the importance of a strong
"Chain of Survival" to save lives, including defibrillation.
Deputy Fire Chief Petersen demonstrated the Automatic
External Defibrillator.
c. Accessory Housing Units — What is Roseville's
Perspective?
Kysylyczyn moved, Schroeder seconded, a motion
requesting the Planning Commission to study the issue and
report back to the City Council.
Councilmember Klausing commented on the value of
exploring the issue further; and the value of broad public
notice and input.
Councilmember Maschka supported referral to the
Planning Commission. He commented on the need for a
larger minimum lot to accommodate AHU's. He also
commented on the value of accessory dwelling units for
some home occupations, such as consultants and graphic
designers.
Councilmember Schroeder supported further investigation
by the Planning Commission and information about how
other communities have implemented it.
Carnival
Automatic
External
Defibrillator
Presentation
Accessory
Housing Units
Policy
Discussion
