Program Planners Subcommittee <br />Commissioner Grefenberg said the subcommittee had not met but they were interested in how <br />civic engagement would be incorporated into the community dialogue. <br />3c. Data Geeks Subcommittee <br />No one from the subcommittee was in attendance. <br />3d. Financial Report <br />Carolyn Curti stated that the financial report had not changed from the previous month. <br />4. Business Items <br />4a. Election of Chair and Vice Chair of the Commission <br />Commissioner Grefenberg suggested since only four members were present that the Commission <br />postpone appointments until November. He asked about current Vice -Chair Oftelie interest in <br />continuing is Vice Chair. Chair Singleton advised the Commission that Vice -Chair Oftelie had <br />told him she was not interested in serving another term. Chair Singleton said since they had a <br />quorum, they should continue with the appointment process. <br />Chair Singleton then turned the meeting over to Commissioner Grefenberg stating would be a <br />conflict of interest for him to act as chair since he was interested in continuing as Chair. Acting <br />Chair Grefenberg asked for nominations. Commissioner Jaeger nominated David Singleton for <br />the Chair. No other nominations were made. Chair Singleton accepted the nomination. <br />Commission voted unanimously to appoint David Singleton to the chair. <br />Chair Singleton thanked everyone for the support. He reiterated that Vice -Chair Oftelie was not <br />interested in serving another term. Chair Singleton then opened the floor for nominations. <br />Commissioner Jaeger nominated Commissioner McKenzie who declined the nomination. <br />Commissioner Grefenberg nominated himself and Commissioner McKenzie nominated <br />Commissioner Jaeger. Chair Singleton closed the nominations and called the vote. Grefenberg <br />received one vote and two abstentions and Jaeger received two votes and one abstention. Chair <br />Singleton declined to vote. <br />Commissioners were unsure how to proceed with the split vote. After some discussion, <br />Commissioners agreed to withdraw nominations and continue the vote at the November meeting. <br />Commissioner Grefenberg moved and Commissioner McKenzie seconded a motion to express <br />the Commission's appreciation and gratitude for the work that Vice -Chair Oftelie provided. <br />Motion prevailed unanimously. <br />4b.
