Program Planners Subcommittee Commissioner Grefenberg said the subcommittee had not met but they were interested in how civic engagement would be incorporated into the community dialogue. 3c. Data Geeks Subcommittee No one from the subcommittee was in attendance. 3d. Financial Report Carolyn Curti stated that the financial report had not changed from the previous month. 4. Business Items 4a. Election of Chair and Vice Chair of the Commission Commissioner Grefenberg suggested since only four members were present that the Commission postpone appointments until November. He asked about current Vice -Chair Oftelie interest in continuing is Vice Chair. Chair Singleton advised the Commission that Vice -Chair Oftelie had told him she was not interested in serving another term. Chair Singleton said since they had a quorum, they should continue with the appointment process. Chair Singleton then turned the meeting over to Commissioner Grefenberg stating would be a conflict of interest for him to act as chair since he was interested in continuing as Chair. Acting Chair Grefenberg asked for nominations. Commissioner Jaeger nominated David Singleton for the Chair. No other nominations were made. Chair Singleton accepted the nomination. Commission voted unanimously to appoint David Singleton to the chair. Chair Singleton thanked everyone for the support. He reiterated that Vice -Chair Oftelie was not interested in serving another term. Chair Singleton then opened the floor for nominations. Commissioner Jaeger nominated Commissioner McKenzie who declined the nomination. Commissioner Grefenberg nominated himself and Commissioner McKenzie nominated Commissioner Jaeger. Chair Singleton closed the nominations and called the vote. Grefenberg received one vote and two abstentions and Jaeger received two votes and one abstention. Chair Singleton declined to vote. Commissioners were unsure how to proceed with the split vote. After some discussion, Commissioners agreed to withdraw nominations and continue the vote at the November meeting. Commissioner Grefenberg moved and Commissioner McKenzie seconded a motion to express the Commission's appreciation and gratitude for the work that Vice -Chair Oftelie provided. Motion prevailed unanimously. 4b. Community Dialogue, Monday, October 25, Skating Center
