Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes August 14, 2007 <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />Commissioners discussed attendance and speakers at the upcoming League of Minnesota Human <br />Rights Commission meeting; Commissioner McKenzie enthusiastically endorsing attendance by <br />individual commissioners. <br />Imagine Roseville 2025— Input and Priorities <br />Councilmember Dan Roe was in attendance to encourage the HRC's input to the City Council on <br />the Imagine Roseville 2025 goals and strategies, including brainstorming ideas and thoughts <br />about those goals and strategies individually and corporately, providing input and feedback on <br />those staff s breakdown from the HRC perspective, how to enhance those strategies and to <br />encourage additional thoughts as the City Council begins prioritizing goals and strategies. <br />Councilmember Roe said the City Council valued the advisory commission input and noted that <br />while he was willing to answer initial questions of the HRC, it was not his intent to influence or <br />participate in the discussion as he wanted the HRC to have ownership of their feedback. <br />Chair Delmore had reviewed the document and identified eight goals the HRC could use as a <br />springboard for discussion. <br />Imagine Roseville 2025 Goals Strategies <br />Community <br />1) <br />Roseville is a welcoming community that appreciates differences <br />and fosters diversity <br />2) <br />Roseville is a desirable place to live, work and play <br />3) <br />Roseville has a strong and inclusive sense of community <br />4) <br />Roseville residents are invested in their community <br />Safety <br />5) <br />Roseville is a safe community <br />Housing <br />6) <br />Roseville Housing meets community needs <br />Environment <br />7) <br />Roseville is an environmentally healthy community <br />Parks, Open Space, <br />Recreation Wellness <br />8) <br />Roseville has world- renowned parks, open space, and multi <br />generational recreation programs and facilities <br />9) <br />Roseville supports the health and wellness of community members <br />Education <br />10) <br />Roseville supports high quality, lifelong learning <br />Infrastructure <br />11) <br />Roseville has a comprehensive, safe, efficient, and reliable <br />transportation system <br />12) <br />Roseville has well maintained, efficient, and cost effective public <br />infrastructure <br />Technology <br />13) <br />Roseville has technology that gives us a competitive advantage <br />Finance and Revenue <br />14) <br />Roseville has a growing, diverse and stable revenue base <br />15) <br />Roseville responsibly funds programs, services, and infrastructure <br />to meet long -term needs <br />Make Roseville a livable community for all (1.11); support the vibrancy that all bring to <br />Roseville and their many contributions to the health of the City; when appropriate, bring <br />diversity to the community for all to enjoy services and how the City can meet your needs. <br />Discussion included newly developed website and feedback forms; City of Minneapolis' 3 -1 -1 <br />program; need to "tweak" the existing form to make it less intimidating; thinking through how <br />people contact the HRC whether through staff or how to better solicit comments and make the <br />process more inviting; further identifying the HRC role and defining specific steps and possible <br />
