water. It's beyond belief. If you look at the two squares you
can see the contrast. I have one further comment about Mr.
Honchell commenting something to the effect it would take 100
years for the lake not to be able to be swum in. It seems I
read 2 or 3 years ago where the Public Health (inaudible) was
questioning the coliform count in Josephine and was it fit and
sanitary for kids to swim in. I think if we continue to pol-
lute the lake we will have a serious problem (inaudible).

MRS. DEMOS: I could answer that question as to why it did
not go across C-2 at the time it was built. The highway was not
where it is and you would have been putting - this road - the
old road goes over to the right and that water would have gone
straight into Josephine at that point also because the road was
back here.

MR. ERICKSEN: I disagree 100%. Could you show us on the

map.

MRS. DEMOS: You go right out here. You can see the old
road cutting up through here and I.believe it would be 12 years
ago when this was all built up and the new road put in and you
can see the old Lexington Avenue coming here andif you had put
it up here then it would have been coming up here because you~
road was here.

MR. ERICKSEN: Perhaps I mis-stated the road. It was right
behind where Reiling woods ends and that is close to C-2, but
that swamp has always been there and I guess I don't understand
that.

MR. DONALD FRIESEN, 1435 Lydia: The way it appears to me,
we have two problems - one the lake, and one to get rid of the
water in the park. I got out my engineering books at wor}<.: and
tried to figure out how much water a 12 inch pipe could drain
off and I didn't know what the drop was into the lake (inaud-
ible). The gentleman stated after the pipe was unplugged the
water did go away. I guess I'd like to ask the engineer, is that
12 inch pipe adequate to drain the water away so the kids can
play in the park.

MR. HONCHELL: No, it's not. There is only one outlet to
the lake at this location. There's a larger pipe further north,

18
