but to drain this area there's only one pipe going to the lake.
The pipe is not of sufficient capacity to (inaudible).

MR. FRIESEN: If that p1pe was unplugged, how much water
would be sitting along the park there.

MR. HONCHELL: At what frequency?

MR. FRIESEN: There's only water there a couple days out
of the year. On those two or three worst days, how much water
would there be in that ditch?

MR. HONCHELL: A foot.

.
MR. FRIESEN: We have solved our problem.

MR. HONCHELL: Unfortunately the ditch that's been alluded
to is quite flat and it will also be three to four inches in the
cul-de-sac.

MAYOR LINEBARGER: I have a question. The Rice Creek Water-
shed is working now on the Lake Josephine area plan if I'm not
mistaken. Can you give us a little overlay of what that involved,
and if something was done here tonight I believe you have commented
to me that this probably would be (inaudible) by them anyway.

MR. HONCHELL: It's my opinion they would not approve the
project as in the feasibility study at least until the completion
of their study. Rice Creek Watershed well over a year ago under-
took a study of the Lake Johanna - Lake Josephine area in an at-
tempt to determine where the drainage problems were and what the
condition of the. water was and what actions were proper to deal
with the problems. They have been attempting to get this study
under way for some time. They have begun now - a few months ago
acquired some of the preliminary inputs from the various commun-
ities. They' will still have to come back and do more. They made
a comment at the last meeting that this was four months away.
They would get the study completed three months after they got
their master plan or overall framework plan and have a hearing
(inaudible) whether that will be approved in one month I don't
know. I would expect it would be several months before the first
phase is done of this study and then other phases to come.

19
