MR. HONCHELL: The slide in the background is completely
surrounded by water.

AUDIO VOICE: The water depth is in the foot and a half
to two foot range. We are now coming to the intersection of
Hamline and Josephine Road and will attempt to show the eleva-
tion of the water at that point. As you can see, the water
(two voices). Again the area is quite extensive. We are now
going to walk the area from northerly of the tennis courts on
Autumn Grove Park along the west side of Hamline and try to
show the problem in this area. The water depth in this area
ranges in the three foot area. We are now at the intersection
of Lydia and Hamline at the southwest corner and will try to
show the problem here. As you can see, the culvert inlet is
approximately two feet deep and the area encompasses a large
body of water at this time. This is in front of the Mounds
View School District offices as a result of the backup at
Josephine Road. We are now on Brenner Avenue just east of
Albert and will attempt to show the problem that exists in the
Brenner Avenue cul-de-sac. As you can see, there is an exist-
ing ditchway that heads to the east. We attempt to show the
depth. The depth of the cul-de-sac area varies from a few
inches to a. foot deep.and the problem is very evident with the
driveways and lawns in this area.

MR. HONCHELL:
of the ponding that
occurs every rain.

I think that fairly well
does occasionally occur.
Certainly it doesn't.

demonstrates some
We don't say it

In response to this petition and this problem, the city
did some surveying and as a result we came up with this parti-
cular set of proposed construction. The area actually is two
separate small sub-areas, one of which goes roughly through here
and serves this area and drains out this existing 24 inch (in-
audible) drains to Lake Josephine. There is a series of swales
along the roadway that pick this up and carry it to the existing
inlet facilities.

The second area 1S south of this. In here the water basi-
cally collects in this area by running to Hamline where it goes
through this ditch area and exits out an existing 12 inch storm
sewer. This 12 inch storm sewer was constructed several years
ago by the county. The other area drains in this area. This is

3
