d) Police Patrolman: Police patrolmen are police officers of the Village of Roseville, and shall obey all instructions and orders of the Police Sergeant, the Assistant Chief of Police, the Chief of Police, and the orders of the Village Council. II. The Village Council further directs that all police officers of the Village of Roseville are expected to be on duty at all times in their endeavor to uphold the law in the Village. However, when the term "active duty" is referred to in this Resolution, it refers to the time actively spent as the working day of the police officer. III. a) The Village Council hereby uirects that at all times the Police Department shall have on duty a supervisory officer of the Police Department. The supervisory officer shall be as follows: 1) 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., ~bnday through Priday, Chief of Police. 2) 4:00 p.m. to 12:01 a.m., ~bnday through Friday, Assistant Chief of Police. 3) 12:01 a.m. to 8:30 a,m., ~bnday through Friday Sergeant. b) The above schedule shall apply unless temporarily. altered by the Chief of Police, anu any change ordered by the Chief of Police shall be entered as an official record of the Roseville Police Department. c) The schedule set forth in Paragraph III (a) above sets forth the minimum workday of each officer referred to; however. it is recognized that these are minimum hours and that these officers are expected to work such additional hours as may be necessary to fulfill the duties of his office. d) On Saturdays and Sundays, the Police Department shall be under the control of one person on active duty, who shall be designated as such by the Chief of POlice, and if there are no supervisory officers on active duty, the Chief of Police shall designate one patrolman in charge of the Police Department during the week-ends. e) It is further directed by the Village Council that the police officer in charge of the Police Department and acting as supervisory officer shall either t.e at the Village Hall or in a police patrol car, and when the supervisory officer finds it necessary to leave the Village Hall or leave the patrol car on police business, he shall inform an employee in the Police Department as to where he may be contacted and the time of his return. Further, when the supervisory officer leaves the Village Hall or patrol car, he shall keep a record of same and the record shall be a part of the official records of the Roseville Police Department. -2-
