starts to the northwest you have 42 inch pipe. I assume that
this pipe is way oversized for this small 80 acre piece that we
have here and They are put in rhere because of the fact that we
do have other areas That are draining into this. Can you give
me a rough idea of what' the outer limits of t.he drainage area
that goes under ~he highway at this point t.oward Rice Creek -
in other words, just give me rough boundaries as +0 water that
contributes toward ~his pipe going under the highway +here.

MR. HONCHELL: It's approximately l20 acres and +0 the best
of our understanding it's the area bounded by the red~. All.that
water eventually goes out this 42 inch outlet.

COUNCILMAN ANDERSON: But you have more water because the
drainage of Langdon Lake comes over.

MR. HONCHELL: You're saying wha"!: propor-r-ion of the 42 is
coming from this area.

COUNCILMAN GRAUEL: I think what he's saying is he wants
to know if you're draining just this area - what is the size of
the pipe and what- would be t.he estima1~.ed Cos1- for +his partic-
ular improvement to drain this segment of t'he area.

MR. HONCHELL: It's a 42 inch pipe and it would cost three
hundred some thousand dollars (inaudible) completely isolated
(inaudible). The sizes here are STrictly to serve this area.
When we don't have large rainfall it will also be carrying
water from Langdon. Just as very large rainfalls we would be
closing off Wilson pond for some time and it would have to
(inaudible) and we would open up the gates at Wilson and allow
that to drain ou~ afterwards. This will have to be a timed
thing so actually these sizes are bare adequate sizes for what
is there now. tVhether Langdon is in or out we will need this
size. Actually we need larger than {~his bu+'. we don' + want' t.o
put anything under 35W.

COUNCILMAN ANDERSON: So you have cut this project- down
in COS1-. If we were able - say they had 3 pipes under 35W in-
stead of the 2, then you would make these other pipes larger
to get rid of more water.

MR. HONCHELL: Yes, and if we followed that, we could

22
