MR. DOUG STRONG, public Works Department: We didn't show
any of the lights because we didn't think they'd enter into it.

MR. PHILLIPS: I think they do because their garages are
there and they are light.

MR. PAT PHILLIPS, 3084 Shorewood Lane: Many of us, myself
included, were aware of the existence of the negative petition,
although Joe did call us, and I assumed called everybody to
get their opinion. I'd like to point out that convincing people
is his occupation in life and that perhaps he's just as effect-
ive, or moee so, than Toddie Smith was in convincing people for
the deleterious effects on the neighborhood, but I think in
fairness you can't, as you have pointed out, isolate it down
only to the sum total where many of the people are now serviced
by lights and many are not. It would be an unfair consideration,
I believe.

MR. JOSEPH RIVARD: I feel compelled to respond. There
was no convincing. My question was - will you sign a petition
to the Council of this village opposing street lighting, and
I used no arm twisting or argument with any of them. These
are people that had received the notice and had preconceived
(inaudible). I did no politicin9 to get support for the peti-
tion.

MR. R. LEE SISLER, 3030 Shorewood Lane: I did sign the
petition opposing, but I should point out that Joe mentioned
there was one family where the family was split. My wife
favors the lighting. She didn't sign any petition.

MR. FRANK LINDIG, 3092 Shorewood Lane: Like my wife said,
we probably don't need any lights up there. We have enough.
The proposed light comes on the edge of our property and Swanson's
and we signed a petition against the lighting. Now, I realize
some of the people below, or on the lower part of Shorewood
Lane may feel they would like some lights. Would it be all
right if we eliminated one or two above and put one or two
below. We don't have to have them all. I like the darkness
up there.
