MAYOR DEMOS: Let me ask you another question since I've
just asked about having Oxford done from Ryan North to Shryer.
If that were done in one improvement and Ryan was done in
another improvement - you said you were against everything.

FROM THE AUDIENCE: I guess I'm against everything because
the way things get worked out, in the end when the time comes
for the final hearing a year from now, policies will have
changed because there will be a little bit different body
sitting in front of us.

MAYOR DEMOS: The policy that we operate under tonight
is the policy under which you would be assessed next August.

FROM THE AUDIENCE: Except the price could change.

MAYOR DEMOS: If it came in over-bid - excessively over-
bid, this Council is not going to award the bid. Mr. Mooney
says he wants Oxford done at any cost. Suppose that were
done in its own improvement and Ryan goes back to the original
deal and you only pay $7.65.

FROM THE AUDIENCE: If you can guarantee that, I would
be for it.

MAYOR DEMOS: What you're saying is we have to look close
at the bids when we get them. We do not have to award a bid.

FROM THE AUDEENCE: But I don't want to pay $300 on my lot.

MAYOR DEMOS: I don't blame you.

FROM THE AUDIENCE: I think we're finding the neighborhood
a little disturbed over this (inaudible) one of the recommenda-
tions given by the engi8eer that if Oxford goes and it should
go in with the people on Ryan, this is one of the recommenda-
tions given our feasibility study, and I think this is where
the people are concerned that will you vote Ryan alone or
will you vote Ryan with Oxford. I think a lot (inaudible)
Ryan alone, but there is a little doubt.
