be to extend that sanitary sewer to a point approximately 350
feet from Rice Street. This would provide sanitary sewer
services then to the now vacant property along the south side
of Transit. It would also enable additional sewers to be con-
structed (inaudible) the proposed cul-de-sacs on Marion and
WOOdbridge, and provide the sewer services for that area.
Although they aren't shown on the map, in each ease what are
called sewer services, or stops, would be brought out to every
lot that is not connected to the sanitary sewers so in the
future it would not be necessary to dig the street up again.

There is an existing watermain that goes along Transit and
up and down Rice Street. It is proposed to serve this new
development and, again, an opening would be made in the road
and a waterline would be brought up Marion, across along the
lot lines, and down Woodbridge to complete a looping in the
facility, and once again, water services brought out to serve
each of the lots. What is not shown on the map is the current
vacant parcel located, I believe, at 230 Transit which does not
have an existing water service line, and this would be con-
structed at the same time if this project is approved.

Storm drains in the area consist of a large line that goes
through the city park to the north and, more importantly, an
outfall from ~le existing pond just south on Transit, up to
Transit, and then westerly to Galtier where it continues on its
way. It is proposed that the storm drainage from this area be
taken a couple of different ways. First, the low area adjacent
to the developed parcels on Galtier Circle would be picked up
through a catch basin system, taken easterly to Marion, down
Marion and into a proposed manhole in Transit. Two additional
catch basins would be built in Transit to pick up the drainage
as well. This would drain essentially this much of the develop-
ment, namely, the single family, although some of the back yards
may go in another direction.

The R-4 area would be drained by piCking up the water
through two catch basins at a low point in the center of the
road, going again along the lot line and northeasterly to where
a swamp area exists. It extends well into the city park and
cuts approximately into this area currently. Those are the
utilities that are proposed.

With that, as part of Alternate 2, is the paving of the
two cul-de-sacs, Marion Street and Woodbridge Street. All of
the improvements I just discussed are incorporated into
Alternative 2. This part of it is fairly clean, if I can use
that word, and not too complicated.

Unfortunately, in doing this work, you can see we have had
to put in about 700 feet of sewer, catch basins, storm drainage,
(inaudible) the water in two places, and torn up a good piece

2
