to the pipe. Same thing here. That water ,,,ou1d then be put
into this Rice Creek niversion and taken over to the low area.
The only areas that would not (inaudible) are a pair of catch
basins where Fernwood would meet Josephine and a small portion
of the water that would not be diverted. Other than that, all
the ~.yater from the site would be diverted to the swampy area
to the east. If the ponding is necessary because Rice Creek
either does not put the work in or does not do it fast enough,
then the proposal is that pondinq would be established on the
site to retain all the water that comes from this site. You
recall that we had pipes here before that went into the large
pipe and got diverted. If that diversion doesn't take place,
this water would be intercepted along the road,.,ays and taken to
a pond reserved for that purpose as part of the plat.

There is also a large area reserved for ponding which
would take the water from these sites and from this area. At
that point the water would still be ponded. These areas are
designed at a lO-year level. However, there are conditions
set on the plat that if it doesn't happen quickly enough -
these ponds - the construction didn't happen quiCkly enough,
these ponds would be expanded to cover a lOa-year storM. This
would be done by deepening the ponds.

The proposed construction of watermain would be a rather
simple system of building a new water facility along the new
roadways, carrying it to the rear of (inaudible) this way it
would be looped by taking it to Josephine or temporarily held
if there were a plat here, and taken to a ne\'l roadway. That
hasn't been determined but it would be looped. Services would
be built off the watermains to serve all of the lots involved.

Sanitary sewer would be provided in a slightly different
manner. As you recall, there is an existing sanitary sewer
in Fernwood and what would be Belair Circle, so services
would be constructed from that, and along Merrill and County
Road C-2 new sanitary sewer would be constructed. The same
along Josephine. There is a sanitary se,.,er on the other side
of the road, but it's more expensive to make crossings than
build one pipe, so the proposal is to construct a pipe on the
south side of Jose~hine.

Summarizing, it is typical 7-ton 32-foot roadways alonq
Merrill and a little piece of Pernwood as part of Phase l,
together sanitary (inaudible). The same style construction
would be done in Phase 2 which would be determined if and when
Rice Creek makes its decision where ponds are built. County
Road C-2 would be constructed either as a 7-ton, 32-foot wide
roadway, again with 6-inch curb and gutter, or, since it's an
r~A system and it qualifies for it, it would be constructed
at 2-feet wider widths on each side with heavier carrying
capacity and not be assessable at all to the people on the
