12

even do the preliminary design and get to the bidding and make an
adjustment when we can see it better without the snow.

~ffi. BACHELLER: The surfacing of the road - there are a lot
of low spots and bumps on the north end where the water is going
to stand. They do some yearly maintenance every year and patch
up the holes. Once, I think, since they put the sewer in they
have done a pretty good job of grading it and resurfacing, but
nothing major on it, but. there's a lack of curbing there.

MR. HONCHELL: It's just a temporary road construction -
road mix type of street.

MR. BACHELLER: If they tear that much up it would be nice
to do it a little better.

MR. HONCHELL: The city would consider a petition if the
people wish to have that done.

MR. BACHELLER: How much did you say it was.

MR. HONCHELL: The city policy is to assess 25% of the cost.
Based on information we have had for the last two or three years
work that's been $7 to $8 a foot assessment. Inflation is driving
everything up but that gives you a feel for the magnitude.
Probably run a little higher today.

MR. BACHELLER: Maybe $10.

MR. HONCHELL: We would have to do a feasibility study as
we did on C-2.

MR. BACHELLER: Am I right in assuming all the lots are each
going to be assessed $285 or $295?

MR. HONCHELL: It's $295 a lot. That typically only pays
30 or 40 or 50% of the cost but the city is trying to hold it
down on assessments to the individual lot owners.

-
MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else wish to be heard?

MR. WESLEY DEAN, 2955 Asbury: I'm talking about something
that's kind of indirectly related here. Last time there was about
an inch of material laid on the pavement in front of our street
it caused us to have a collection of water in our driveway
which causes me to empty out about a thousand gallons a time
about three times in the springtime. I'm wondering if the city
can do something about that. .

MR. HONCHELL: We will be happy to have the Road Department
review that. It will probably not be done with this project
because this is not a road maintenance project, but that's what our
Street Department is for.

MR. DEAN: If we were to petition adding the new street in
