15

of the condition of the street.

MRS. JOHNSON: Nothing for the sewer taking care of the
Coventry - no problem with that?

MR. HONCHELL: That's already taken care of. The state
will be providing more storm sewer, but that's to drain the
service road.

MRS. JOHNSON: I talked to Mrs. Stephan next door to us and
they're not in favor of the sidewalk either, and like this one
woman said - that's new (inaudible) Roseville. Most of the children
do go on the south side going west and then the other children
are picked up by busses at each corner on the south and north
sides.

MR. WESLEY DEAN, 2955 Asbury: I'm speaking for the Central
Church. Have you figured what the assessment will be to the
church?

MR. HONCHELL: As far as the road paving is concerned, it
depends on which alternate is selected, but using the highest
possible, for this improvement we have$11,167.28.

MR. DEAN: That's a little higher than I thought it was.

MAYOR DEMOS: It's $9,300 without the sidewalk.
declare the hearing closed.

I will

COUNCILMAN CURLEY: If the bike path were eliminated, which
seems like the consensus of opinion - was this a part of a master
bike trail, or what?

MR. HONCHELL: The reason it was suggested as a pathway is
because the city several years ago had a master bicycle trailway
reviewed by a citizen's committee and this particular street
was listed as one they felt should be on the overall system.
Right now it's not being (inaudible) that way because, first,
it's a fairly bumpy road. Second, when they get to the end of the
street there's no way to get across.

COUNCILMAN CURLEY: Maybe my statement was not correct.
H~ many people here are for the sidewalk?
. . Show of hands
COUNCILMAN CURLEY: How many are against it?
. . . . . Show of hands . . .

COUNCILMAN KEHR: First of all, is it going to be called a
sidewalk or bicycle path?

MR. HONCHELL:

It's a pathway.
