5

MAYOR DEMOS: Again I ask that you come to the microphone,
state your name and address, either ask questions or make a
statement pro or con.

MR. HARRY COOK, 2887 Pascal: The storm sewer - I live at the
top of the hill but that's fine - I'm happy to trade $295 for the
street, curb and gutter. Do we have to have a sidewalk?

MR. HONCHELL: No, that's the engineer's recommendation, but
not mandatory.

MR. COOK: How about C-2 and Snelling - you didn't show us
what you're going to do there. Is that going to be a diamond
access?

MR. HONCHELL: They don't exactly have the plans done yet.
As you probably observed - those of you that (inaudible) in the
neighborhood - there was a gas station here at the southeast corner
of Snelling and C-2, and another one at the northeast corner.
Both of these have been purchased and removed by the Highway
Department.

~ffi. COOK: One is removed.

MR. HONCHELL: Also a very small commercial activity that will
also be removed. The proposal of the state is to bring the
service road (inaudible) and to flare out to the east a bit. If
any of you have ever been at County Road B and Snelling and you
know how tight some of those frontage roads are so you can't make
any maneuvers because you're (inaudible) on top of Snelling
they're trying to avoid repeating that error. They have bought the
service stations and are trying to swing the service road away
from Snelling so there's room to make maneuvers. They don't have
that precisely drawn, but this is their plan and they're probably
90% done.

MR. COOK: Is that one-way?

MR. HONCHELL: No, two-way in each direction. Two-way road.

MR. COOK: When the state is tearing up Snelling and C-2 and
the city this enq, is that going to all be done at the same time
(inaudible) weIll be parking a block up.

MR. HONCHELL: It will probably be done quite close to the same
time. By that I mean, we can't construct our roadway until we
construct the storm drain under it. And we can't construct the
storm drain until we have a place for the water to flow out so the
state has to build this. We're probably going to be running a
couple of weeks behind them all the way just because we have to have
the storm to empty our water out and then we can do the paving.
But it will be a long enough period so you can say, yes, they're
going on at the same time. As far as parking, welre going to make
every attempt to keep our roadways open. That's not to say you're
