The over all
condition of our neighborhoods is starting to slowly decline. Many of Roseville's homes are considered obsolete
Examples; no garages, single car garages, one bath, and very small bedrooms.
Neighborhoods where many small families and noisy kids playing in yards no longer exist. Except for the very new
neighborhoodsthat are all priced in the upper brackets, Roseville is quietlygetting old, maybe dying.
While appreciation of the cities homes seem to be increasing, if you look across the board all homes in the metro
area have gone up in value as well, even those areas that are crime ridden or in decay.
Local realtors and investors are purchasing a lot of our city's single family homes, and while they do fix them up a
bit, overall they dojust enough to makethe home renterfriendly.
This truly does defeat the objective of bringing in young families to keep Roseville rejuvenated.
It seems to me that the handwriting is on the wall the Roseville City Council does not want an HRA for a myriad of
reasons. My question to you then is, with all you have to do, are you going to be able to effectivelytake on the role
of the HRA?
I ask this because someone has to keep a watch on Roseville'saging housing stock.
It seems to me that a group of concerned Roseville citizens made up of a developer, a realtor, a home inspector, a
retiree, a school board member and business man, a public housing employee, and a mom is the perfect group to
oversee this important and time consumingwork.
I believe the members of the HRA, to a person, are respectful of your positions. We are a Concemed group that
works togetherwell for the bettermentof the city of Roseville. I heartilyconcurwith Chairman Majerus' mail dated
12/2/2004.
If not us, then you?
Roseville needs a fully funded and functioning HRA. I am asking that you fund the half levy for the HRA.
Sincerely,
#
