l2

there was a retaining wall, you wouldn't have to take the trees.

REPRESENTATIVE OF SHORT OFFICE: If you went to a retaining
wall?

MR. NOVAK: A retaining wall would save him three beautiful
trees. What is the cost, in a half million dollar road (inaudible)

REPRESENTATIVE OF SHORT OFFICE: I guess the purpose of a
public hearing is to get the feedback from the people. That's
something we could look at.

MR. NOVAK: Is that something you will take upon yourself
or would you suggest us to keep in contact with you?

MR. SHORT: What is your father's address?

MR. NOVAK: 204 Minnesota.

MR. HONCHELL: In the end, this will be voted on by the
Council. If they vote it down there wouldn't be a need for a
meeting. If they vote it in, then I would say all of you that
would like to have a contact made with you, you would stay after
the meeting, provide us with an address and contact person, a
phone number. As I say, I desire to have a meeting with several
of you rather than coming out every night, but we'll see if we can
schedule something to find out your concerns and work with you to
solve them.

~m. NOVAK: If you have a gravel drive, what extent will
they come down. What I have is, I have a gravel driveway. What
extent do they come down to my driveway? Do they come to the
legal definition of the road?

MR. HONCHELL: They will come to try to match what you have.
If there is six inches difference between the edge of the road and
where your driveway is, they would begin to follow the slope,
putting in probably asphalt, and wherever they match they would
stop. They wouldn't follow it all the way to your garage.

MR. NOVAK: I wonder if I could see that curb overlay again.
If that water is going to drain to the south at each driveway,
how do you prevent the water from going down the driveway?

~~. HONCHELL: The curb where the openings are, are lower.
It's not brought down all the way to the bottom of the gutter.
There is normally a lip or a raised portion there to try to carry
the water on past the driveway, and on locations that have
anticipated severe problems such as you're describing, that lip
might be left a little higher so the water can better be carried
past rather than flowing down the driveway.

HAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else?
