5

MR. TAUGNER: You will lower Minnesota - did I understand
that?

MR. HONCHELL: The general design of Minnesota is to try
to lower it slightly and tip it toward the south as far as curb
elevations, to match it. Any time we have any roadway inter-
section such as Western on the south and another one on Marion, those are
the only two we have - we would adjust the pavement on Minnesota
to generally match the intersection we're coming from, be it Marion
or Western.

MR. TAUGNER: Yoy're coming farther south on Minnesota. You
were talking about removing 17 trees. We have all the trees on that
one side. Are we going to be affected by that?

MR. HONCHELL: On the southwest corner of Western and Minnesota.

REPRESENTATIVE OF SHORT OFFICE: I believe there are no trees
near that property that will be removed.

MR. HONCHELL:
conclusion of this
outside there is a
we could put on an
at your lot to see

For any of you that are interested, at the
hearing, on the wall on the bulletin board
strip map which is a much larger scale than what
overhead projector, and you might want to look
if there's a tree impacted by this.

MR. TAUGNER: I'm in no condition to cut grass on steep banks
so we have a problem with that because it's always full of weeds and
tall grass. Is there anything that could be put on that besides
sod? It's a l65 foot lot and I just can't keep up with it.

MR. HONCHELL: I think we would certainly be willing to meet
with you and see - if the project goes through - if we could find a
different cover.

MR. TAUGNER: That would be appreciated.

~m. Y~RK NOVAK, 280 Minnesota: My first question has to do
with utilities. What happens to the telephone poles?

MR. HONCHELL: We have been in contact with Northern States
Power and the telephone company both. Their plan would be to leave
the utilities lines in a similar manner. By that I mean, most of
the area is served with overhead lines. They would propose, if
we have to move a pole, the pole would remain being an overhead
service line and they apparently feel they wouldn't have any par-
ticular problem of locating it in the right-of-way and providing
service to the homes.

~~. NOVAK: Another problem I have is, I'm one of those cases
where I have a real steep grade. You stated there weren't going to
be any retaining walls replaced. I have a retaining wall that will
be taken out and I have talked to the engineer and he said he
thinks they can guarantee they can slope that down. I have a
(inaudible) six to eight feet. How are they going to grade that
