7

MR. RONCHELL: As I say, the sections (inaudible) they had
F~veyors out and we did cross sections and measured toward the
IXoperty on each side. As they did that, and did their design for
the street, the preliminary work indicates it would not make your
area worse. I don't know if either one of them stays the same or
qets better, but they did not result in any areas getting worse.

MR. NOVAK: You mentioned the bike path and when you mentioned
it you said you wanted to find out what people thought about it
en t.~e 5 treet.

V~. HONCHELL: One of the reasons we include it in all M.S.A.
improvenents is because we feel this should be the time that a
cecision should be made rather than try and jockey the street
tack and forth (inaudible) to see if the people would desire this.
Cb7iously there are some benefits because it provides a safer way
to In:>ve pedestrians and bikers off the road and that's a better place
t~an on the road itself and we want to consider it.

MR. NOVAK: What side of the street will parking be allowed?

MR. HONCHELL: I should have mentioned that. Although we're
ce=tainly not adamant about it, our recommendation would be to allow
the parking on the north side, prohibit parking on the south
fide, one of the reasons (inaudible) there are several hundreds
cf feet there that there are no people on the south side.
Secondly, most of the driveways that are severe are on the south side
and we would like the people to have the maximum visibility as they
~o out of their driveways on to the road by not having a parked car
tetween them and the oncoming traffic. So we'd like to have that
as open as possible.

~1R. NOVAK: In my opinion, being somebody who lives on the street,
: 'm against the bike path.

MR. JOHN ULSETH, 437 Minnesota: One thing that immediately
c~e to my mind is the parking. I was going to ask the same question.
: live on the north side of the road. I have three feet of the road
~at I got shoved over my way - now I get the parking too. I
~ess I get double jeopardy there.

~~OR DEMOS: (inaudible) what he said, it's going to be three
:e~t north of the centerline? Are you sure where it is now it isn't
=orth of the centerline?

HR. ULSETH: When I saw them making their crosses on the street
- tr.ink it was a few feet north, and looks like about a few feet
:u.rther north now even yet.

~ffi. HONCHEL:: What cross street?

;':R. L"LSETH: About four houses down from South Hill Drive -
:c u:r houses wes t .

~ffi. HONCHELL: In your location the road would be moving toward
