to everyone's benefit to have the work done at this time. Prices
in the near future are expected to increase drastically, at least
from what I can tell, and this is about the cheapest it's ever
going to be for anybody. I know costs, as late as four years
ago, weren't as cheap as they probably could be this year. Thank
you.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else on Pernwood?

MR. JEROME DALNES, 2824 Fernwood: I'm opposed to this peti-
tion for the mere reason that the street has been adequate for
the last nine years I've been on the Avenue and I think it will
make another nine.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else from Fernwood Avenue?

MR. MICHL PRENOSIL, 2830 Fernwood: I'd like to get some
in'formation as far as what percent of the people who signed this
petition are on the street. That wasn't brough~ out earlier.

MR. HONCHELL: It was signed by 31% of the affected frontage.

MR. PRENOSIL: This would indicate that the majority of the
people along the street weren't interested in having it passed.
I think this is the main thing I was interested in. I would also
like to mention that if this is done now, at least as having
signed, the street might not be able to be done this year. It
might drag out a long time because we are late in the season.
This might be another factor also. Thank you.

MR. HONCHELL: Just in response (inaudible). We agree with
you - it is getting late. Not in the construction year (inaudible)
but in the general scheduling of things. In talking to the
consulting engineers that are doing this work, however, we've
been told that they will indeed be able to get contracts out in
time to complete the construction of this work, given normal
labor conditions and at least normal weather conditions. I can't
tell you we aren't going to have snow in the middle of October,
but that wouldn't be typical. So it does appear that construction
could occur this year.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else from Fernwood Avenue?

MR. ROMAIN HN1ERNICK, 2744 Fernwood Street: I'd like to go
up to the map if I may for a minute.

MAYOR DEMOS: Surely.

MR. HAMERNICK: Our home
problem for the last 16 years.
time we get an inch of rain or
take care of that situation?

is right here. We've had a drainage
These four homes have water every
more. Will this new improvement

MR. HONCHELL: I guess I can't tell you specifically it will
take care of it. However, we would be very willing to sit down,
have a meeting with you and your neighbors, to determine exactly

~
