MR. DONALD JOHNSEN, 2765 Merrill: I, too, have lived here
since the inception of the building of the homes there, on that
particular corner. I certainly have enjoyed living in Roseville
all these many years. I would like to ask a question, and I
think I know what the answer is, but could I ask this - in the
signatures that you have for the petition, were there two people
counted per household or only one person?

MR. ANDRE: One per property.

MR. DONALD JOHNSEN: One per property. In other words, there
are approximately 38 homes on Merrill?

MR. ANDRE: There were two or three that didn't sign one way
or the other.

MAYOR DEMOS: You can have two signatures but you would
still only count one piece of property.

MR. DONALD JOHNSEN: Okay, I guess (inaudible) how this was
counted. If a man and wife were counted, actually you only have
(inaudible). I guess all I'm saying is - you were sure that you
only have one signature per residence.

~ffiYOR DEMOS: This map has circles, so in other words - I
don't know which color is which - but one color is those who
signed the petition for and one is for those who signed the peti-
tion against. So we're counting the properties, not the names.

MR. DONALD JOHNSEN: Let me just make one or two comments.
First of all, I want to go on record and say that I'm democratic,
just as much as anybody else. I guess, if the majority of our
38 households would vote for the project, I certainly would vote
for it too. We did sign against the project. Therefore, I think
I should speak against it for our household. I did mention that
we were in at the inception of the Village and our home. I can
remember almost 27 years ago when we moved in, there were no
streets. They were just plain mud. We, too, somebody mentioned
planks and boards and whatever else had to be laid down in order
to move furniture into the house. We had to do this also. Then,
of course, a short time later, we went through the sewer and
water and all the other projects that went into the Village.
Here again, as you know, our homes were disrupted for a long time.
I'm not saying it wasn't good, because I think we all appreciate
what went in. But it did (inaudible) kind of a mess for all the
people around. I don't know -' I had a water problem in my
house for a long time too and finally had to spend about $1500
to hopefully lick the water problem. r don't know if any other
homeowners have done that, but I'm sure that some of them have.
r really would like to address myself to this - we recently had
an election in Roseville for the School Board. I'm embarrassed
to say that I didn't come up and vote and I think about 98% of
the rest of the residents in Roseville did not vote. I think
that's to all of our shame. I just say that because I just drove
back from Merrill and I kind of looked at the houses and everyone
of the houses are all lit up. Now, if those people who are there
are for or against this project, they would be here and the lights

13
