Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,April 25, 2011 <br /> Page 2 <br /> ordinance revision of several years ago lacked taking into consideration that pre- <br /> vious research and additional research prior to additional revisions; thus further <br /> opining that this had prompted some of the concerns raised by off-sale liquor <br /> store owners. <br /> Budget Discussions <br /> Related to pending 2012/2013 budget discussions and the list of high/low priori- <br /> ties, Mr. Kysylyczyn opined that, based on his personal research of past meeting <br /> minutes and either their lack of existence or lack of detail, the City Council may <br /> wish to further consider raising the priority ranking of Recording Secretary ser- <br /> vices to ensure the availability of a detailed historical record of City Council dis- <br /> cussions and subsequent actions for future reference. <br /> 4. Council Communications, Reports and Announcements <br /> Mayor Roe noted the success of the Earth Day Celebration held over last weekend at <br /> Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC); and provision of an American flag recently <br /> flown over the nation's Capitol in recognition of HANC's 23rd anniversary and the Earth <br /> Day Celebration; and her provision of the flag to the City and a plaque commemorating <br /> it. <br /> Mayor Roe noted that the Parks and Recreation Master Plan implementation process was <br /> underway, and a random, scientific survey was underway; and asked that recipients re- <br /> spond and thanked them for doing so. <br /> Mayor Roe announced upcoming meetings/events and how <br /> to obtain additional informa- <br /> tion. Meetings included: <br /> • April 30, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Roseville's semi-annual clean-up day, <br /> with collections at the Dale Street entrance to Central Park <br /> • May 2 — 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon — North Suburban Senior Council will be <br /> sponsoring events for senior citizens at the Fairview Community Center in honor of <br /> the designation of May as Older American's Month <br /> • May 5, 2011 from 6:00— 8:00 p.m. - Roseville citizens are invited by the City of Fal- <br /> con Heights' Human Rights Commission to a free "Spring Together" event at Curtis <br /> Field in Falcon Heights to learn more about the Somali culture, with activities <br /> planned for all ages. <br /> • May 7, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Truckload Sale at City Hall of seasoned <br /> compost, as well as compost bins and rain barrels <br /> • May 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. — Yellow Ribbon Community Organization —kick-off or- <br /> ganizational meeting at the Roseville Skating Center for any interested volunteers <br /> • May 11, 2011 from 7:00 — 8:45 p.m. - Parks and Recreation Master Plan Implementa- <br /> tion Community Meeting #2 at the Roseville Skating Center Rose Room where pre- <br /> liminary outcomes of the recently-completed Master Plan Implementation Survey <br /> will be available; and "next steps" discussed by Implementation Team Work Groups; <br /> as well as opportunities to speak with citizen leaders, neighbors, and staff on current <br /> parks and recreation needs <br />
