Mayor Roe noted this was a proactive step taken
of this City Council.
Mayor Roe spoke in support of the traffic study, while being troubled by the cost
of the study, and p referring a more regional analysis of how County Road C-2
fits into the overall scheme. However, he wanted to be respectful of the County
Road C-2 and Josephine Road residents and inherent traffic conflicts, which the
study would provide for better understanding. Mayor Roe suggested that the
source of funding for the study come from the Street Construction Fund.
Councilmember Johnson spoke of incorporating neighborhood counts as well.
City Engineer Bloom noted that any additions to the study beyond that presented
in the RCA would result in additional costs, noting that the study as presented in-
cluded one public forum for the neighborhood and one presentation to the City;
and estimated that any additional meetings or study parameters would increase by
$500 increments.
Councilmember Johnson suggested that the motion be amended not to exceed
$15,000.
Willmus moved, Johnson seconded, authorizing staff to proceed with a traffic
study by SRF for an Origin-Destination Study as presented and detailed in the
RCA dated April 26, 2011; and as a result of additional discussion and supported
by the maker/seconder of the original motion, amended as follows:
• the funding source for the traffic study come from the Street Construction
Fund;
• existing and adjoining internal neighborhood traffic be included in the traf-
fic study;
• the cost of the traffic study not exceed$15,000;and
• the study not include any additional meetings other than as noted in the
staff presentation;
Ms. Bloom advised that she would consult with SRF personnel to determine if
they can provide any value-added data from existing models for impacts to Coun-
ty Road C.
Roll Call
Ayes: Willmus; Johnson; and Roe.
Nays: McGehee.
Motion carried.
e.
