June 6, 2011 <br />INTERNAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Human Rights Commission <br />Re: 2011 Strategic.Plan Recommended Amendments <br />For the past six months the Commission has reviewed several proposed <br />strategies to achieve its goals, A compilation of those strategic proposals is <br />attached, The committee reviewed and discussed these and now has a fi na l <br />report. <br />At the March commission meeting the Commission adopted an outline of <br />several strategies to pursue this year. The Committee believes it is now time <br />to complete the strategic plan for 2011 by adopting several amendments and <br />additions to the 2011 Strategic Plan which will complete the framework <br />previousl y adopted and provide direction for the remainder of this year. <br />Recommendation: The Committee recommends that the <br />Commission adopt as its Strategic Plan and Initiatives for 2011 <br />the report found on pages 2 and 3 of this report. <br />Dote: if you have any specific changes to suggest it would be helpful to the <br />process if you could bring to Tuesday's commission meeting written copies (8) <br />of any new language. <br />Submitted for the Committee by Gary G refe n berg <br />Attachments: Excerpts from Commission Minutes December 201 0 -March 2011 <br />chair's Strategic Plan for 2011 (December 12, 2010) <br />Possible Initiatives for 2011 (staff document dated January 11, 2011) <br />internal Affairs committee Recommendations to Amend Strategic Plan <br />
