to the east of Victoria, and a park area. Occasionally there
are tournaments there and there's been someone charging for
admission. We do have parking problems on Transit as people
attempt to park on Victoria or Transit to avoid paying the
$l.OO or the fee to get in.

MAYOR DEMOS: I wasn't aware that - we don't charge.
That had to be an individual. We'll find out about that.

MR. ANDERSON: I think it's happened a couple of times
when there have been tournaments. When I drive past there's
a little sign and someone sitting in a driveway - $1.00 for
parking or whatever it is.

MAYOR DEMOS: To do that and force it into the neighbor-
hoods is totally wrong.

MR. ANDERSON: It has happened that often and I wouldn1t
say for sure that they're charging for parking. . .

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: But they're charging for something.

COUNCILMAN JOHNSON: Someone's very enterprising.

r-
\
,

MR. GORDON THOLE, 911 Transit: I favor the street, but
referring to the parking at the lot - I know what he was
talking about. I had gone down to the lot at one time and
they were charging $1.00, but they were never charging for
anybody that stated that they lived in the Roseville area
within that area that we're referring to. They were
charging people to park - no doubt about it. I said hey, I
live right down the street-.they said that was no problem.

MAYOR DEMOS: What was the tournament?

MR. THOLE: It was baseball or softball.

WOMAN IN AUDIENCE: It was a state .tournament for the
fast pitch. They charged so much per person and so much per
car.

MR. THOLE: But they didn't charge anybody that lived
within that area.

WOMAN IN AUDIENCE: Yes they did - they charged us.

MR. THOLE: There was a fellow that was standing out.
at the end of the lot there on Victoria that said that there
was a $1.00 fee for parking. When I drove in I said I lived
down the street and I wasn't going to pay for parking and
there was no problem. They didn't charge me. They did charge
some people for parking.

COUNCILMAN KEHR: Was it a parking charge or a donation?

14
